I’m back with another catchup post; this time for the #HalloweenForeverCollab, which I kept up with until it was moving time. It somewhat made up for missing October/Halloween last year so I’m definitely going to try and keep up with the prompts this year. Meanwhile this was August 2021’s prompt of Blood Drip French Tips. I decided to use orange instead of red for the blood because I rather love the super pop cartoon look when a bright color like pink or orange is used instead of blood colors (combined with lots of gratuitous ass kicking violence, of course).
Nail art products used
- Base Polishes:
- Familiar Polish’s “Frog’s Breath“
- Stamping Polishes:
- Maniology’s “Doom“
- Freehand Painting:
- Blood drips painted with Maniology’s “Doom“
- Stamping Plates:
- Born Pretty “Halloween-L003” (bloody brain)
I definitely have a few stamping plates with blood drips, but they really are an easy pattern to freehand and you know I love to have each nail look different from the others. I live a very skittle nail art life. I used the same polish for the freehand and the stamping so you can see it stamps muuuch lighter than it appears in the bottle. That does tend to be the nature of duochrome stamping polishes though.
“Frog’s Breath” is from Familiar Polish’s halloween release in 2021 and it’s well worth it if you can get your hands on it. It’s much more of a true white than Lucky 13’s “Can I Keep You” but I’m still happy to have both since I love glow in the dark polishes.
#HalloweenForeverCollab
Here’s the collage, which is particularly important since four months have passed and you’ll have to scroll to see everyone’s cool mani in the group tag. Our prompt for this month is Frosty – the scare man. Wicked. ⛄
A bloody interlude
The last time I painted bloody
nail art…
Back to the orange blood
Yes, that was much more red. But there’s a lot to be said about things that glow in the dark. (Mainly that I adore them with childish glee.) I love how the edges of the blood have an outline in the photo below. I imagine it’s the product of the blacklight since I didn’t do anything special to get the effect.
That’s enough blood for now. Until next time, friends! 👋
That does look really amazing 😀
Thanks! I’m glad you like it! 😁
