Hot Ghost October

Today’s look might just confirm for you that I am odd. Last year @iamdeliasnails painted an absolutely beautiful ghost mani and I told her then that I wanted to recreate it. I did not tell her that I was going to take liberties in the elements that I changed. Because I knew. I knew the moment I saw her mani that I loved it and I wanted to recreate it with sexy ghosts. (I actually have the stamping plate for the ghosts she used, so this was a Choice.) I hope she loves it and it makes her laugh. I know it amuses the heck out of me.

I tried to color match the sweet burnt orange shade Delia has, but what I picked ended up a little darker. I decided to fix that by adding a grunge texture in two lighter shades and I think that turned out well.

But I think what becomes most evident when you see the two side by side is my lack of self control. Delia has a few strategic stars. They are a delight. I have a galaxy after discovering that I could just pick out the outlined stars instead of trying to make them a decal and then I filled in all the spaces! It went so fast! I didn’t even clean the plate after each pickup like I normally do. 😂

I also originally planned to only swap out the ghosts because I have all the plates for the quotes too, but as I was painting I knew I surely had some kind of quote to make it even more cheeky and I found it on UberChic Beauty’s Halloween-06 plate. “If you’ve got it haunt it” sounds like something a hot ghost would say, right?
