Tag: reverse nail stamping
A nail art technique where a stamping image is picked up from the stamping plate and then filled in with more nail polish before stamping it on the nail.
I typically make mine into a decal before I start adding additional colors by painting on a coat of clear polish (not quick-drying). As long as you let it dry properly, it helps keep the lines from getting distorted or plucked off the stamper if you paint too “hard”. I use this technique a lot.
Scary Snowmen
It’s time for a non-catch up post where we celebrate Halloween (again) as if it’s happening all year because why not. This month’s prompt was Frosty the Scary Man and I had a lot of ideas that were too ambitious for my current energy levels. Like…I could feel myself procrastinating Read More
Hocus Pocus
Once upon a time I painted a love potion-esque nail art. It was pre-blog and there was pink. I can even wave the stamping plate I used uselessly in the air. You can’t see it because this isn’t a video, but all the parts are there. Anyway, I sadly cannot Read More
Zodiac Collection: Aquarius
It’s finally happened: I’m going to (try) to paint a full zodiac collection this year. And I’m not alone because @nailsoflizmo started a new monthly challenge for it. Here’s hoping for enough peace and quiet that I can keep up with All The Things this year. I definitely better not Read More
Gothic Purple Spiders
Luckily or not, I stopped posting last year before I stopped painting. So let’s start with a little catch-up with a super purple and lacy mani I painted for @AZNailArtChallenge’s ‘G’ is for Gothic prompt. I wanted purple because black just felt too typical and Maniology keeps going with dark Read More
Simple French Cuisine
It’s funny how the French are associated with cooking that takes many specialized cooking utensils and techniques and also the simplest and most delicious of foods. (Mind you, I am aware that making your own croissants would take a lot of work. So many layers…) I definitely can recommend all Read More
Bamboo Forest Retreat
I’m trying a new (to me) challenge this month because I liked its prompts the best: #Sammys2021Challenge run by @my_nail_envy. Its first prompt was Forest and I really wanted to use this image of a tiny lady in a kimono holding a giant lotus leaf and framed by some bamboo. Read More
Bones at the Beach
I certainly meant to post this last week, but my brain has entered a fugue state which I mostly blame on the pandemic. One family member, who was vaccinated, got Covid and is still in pretty bad shape, though not so bad that they are in the hospital. I’ve started Read More
Oops! Earth
I very much believe that we would all be in a better place if we considered ourselves caretakers of the planet instead of its rulers. So many of the things we do that end up causing us harm (like higher cancer rates in certain areas) wouldn’t be possible if we Read More
