Valentine’s Day is over but the Instagram prompts keep coming. I don’t mind. I still have plenty of unused things that fit the theme. One thing about working with false nails all the time. I actually had this set painted for years. I can’t even remember what my original plan for it was. It came up several times between that initial paint job and now, but whatever plans I had never worked out. I’m really glad they didn’t. I love the way this looks. The corgis are so cute and sweet and the color scheme looks a little vintage while not actually being so. My only regret may be that I painted this long before I started stamping flipside designs so I couldn’t add anything. Ah, well.

The puppy love nail is actually a full nail design, but even with my wide nails you can’t always fit in as much of an image as you like. My usual system is to pick up an image and then paint over it with a clear polish to help hold it together and keep it from smearing or accidentally lifting off the stamper while I’m trying to fill it in. In this case that clear coat made it even easier to separate out the two corgis on either side of the “puppy love” phrase so I could reapply them a little closer. If I hadn’t you wouldn’t be able to see much more than the barest bit of their sweet noses!
No matter the size of your nails, don’t be afraid to dice up a full nail image to fit the nails you have.
