Hot Chocolate Weather

It’s already so warm where I live that I’m not sure a hot chocolate mani really fits, but a prompt is a prompt and I already had this painted. Two days ago I noticed the first snow drop bud in my yard. I went to take a picture of it last night and something had already come by and nommed the top. But a lot more snow drops have buds now and I partly planted them to provide food for the wildlife anyway so they are serving their purpose. Spring is here and yet it’s not.

Today’s look combines the silly with the cozy. I loved the image of the marshmallows perversely jumping into a hot cup of cocoa. Like…the water may feel fine, fellas, but it’s slowly melting you. And then the reality of two hands cupping a cup of hot chocolate to keep warm. The anticipation of drinking it all down and licking the melted marshmallow foam off your lips. It’s almost like a commercial selling the stuff. Hah!

For the polishes, I wanted this mani to feel like hot chocolate so I used a lot of warm browns and reds. Colores de Carol’s “Tiers of Joy” felt like a given and I paired it with Jior Couture’s “Dous Makos”. The cold and hot states are such a warm combination of colors and the gold reflective glitter really pops. It was also a given that my brown stamping polish would match the look by being called “Cocoa”.

Overall, really happy with this one. Especially because it’s another flipside mani and the snowflakes and caramel brown background remind you of the season without making you feel the cold.
