My thought this month was that I would let my cindy hand have fancy nails, but I would paint gel on top of it so I could work on my left hand without destroying it too quickly (I have a cotten ball holder, but I never seem to use it). So for my Sugar Skull nails for #NailCraziesUnite I decided to use some of the water decals I keep hoarding. These are the most common type of full-nail water decal I see on ebay and Aliexpress and they are not wide enough for my nails. To “disguise” this, I painted a border around the sides and tip of the nail with a small paint brush. Then I cooked it under my LED light, top coated, cooked again, and called it good. I do love this image. It reminds me very much of La Muerte from the movie The Book of Life, but in a different outfit.
And I do love that movie. Now is a great time to see it, plus it’s kid-friendly. 😀
- Base Polishes:
Black and white gel polishes plus Sally Hansen’s “Somber Bliss” - Water Decals:
BN-201, BN-185 (full-nail decal)
it came out perfectly! I didn’t even notice that the decal wasn’t big enough for your nails, so I’d say you did a great job!
Thanks so much! It’s definitely a technique I plan to use again. 🙂
