Some days I truly miss having long, natural nails. But then I remember how it was only one hand that ever got very long (because I’ve got things like yardwork to do) and how much I hated that lack of symmetry. And scratching myself and my loved ones. And having a break and having to start over.
Yeah, the good ol’ days are never as good as you first remember them being. And this set of skull nail art is from that time with the long nails. I have pretty wide nails so even these larger full nail water decals didn’t manage to cover my whole nail. So I used two of my favorite tricks: enough “freehand” painting to extend an image and framing the image to fill in the excess space.
Nail art products used
- Base Polishes:
- Re-usable white gel base
- Freehand painted black frames and extended skull decals with Sally Hansen’s I 🖤 Nail Art Striper “black“
- Water Decal:
- Halloween water decals from A1100
Items in italics are debuting on the blog for the first time.
You can see my nails (below) where the white edge of my base is showing after the skull water decals were applied. Sometimes all that extra nail art-ing “canvas” can be a little inconvenient, but there’s always a trick to make it work!
