Well, I’m not sure when this is going to post since it’s been a few days and the collage hasn’t been released yet. Ah, the chaos of the holidays. 🙂 This is my first time participating in the #theinspirationchallenge on Instagram where someone is asked to pick a cool image and everyone paints something on their nails that represents it. This time it was this great watercolor-y image of a city reflected down into…water?
I thought it was stunning and I’ve been trying for a while to find the time to participate so I just made it happen this time. It helped that I still had a white gel base on my nails so I could just go wild with the sharpies. I laid down a coat of matte nail polish and scribbled away directly on the nail and then used a little rubbing alcohol on a flat brush to watercolor it out a tiny bit and set the sharpie. Then I top coated and photographed. It went really fast. I tried hard to not second guess myself too much.
- Re-usable white gel base
- Everything else freehanded with sharpies and blended with rubbing alcohol
