“Let’s just hope the people who live here understand traders flags. Or a friendly wave,” Ariana eyed Professor Genevieve Forsweth who was waving at the mermaid. With both arms. “Professor, I would not stand so close to the rail right now.”
“Do you think she’d let me take a few samples, Sir Cormorant? I mean, I know I’m here to study the native fauna and she’s surely a construct, but it would be quite fasci-”
“There’s something in the water! Portside!”
With the crew scrambling to follow the captain’s bellowed orders, Ariana and the professor were the only two still watching as the kraken surfaced. There was a flash of light and the second balloon–Peedmont’s Triumph–was already in flames. Ariana caught the professor’s arm and kept her upright as the ship lurched upward. “Let’s hope we can get out of range in time, Professor. I don’t suppose you know how to swim?”

#StampingMasterAugust on Instagram had a Bug/Insect prompt and you know I can’t pass that up. I had a couple of sets of falsies from Born Pretty so I decided to paint them. Unfortunately they only came in six sizes which don’t quite fit and, heh, my nails are also too long for them. So I sadly couldn’t take pictures with them on. That will have to wait until I break a nail that I can’t fix. Or get tired of fixing them. :p Still, these are great for a steampunk occasion and I am happy to have them just in case. Meanwhile, Keep scrolling down and you’ll see how I couldn’t leave my airship nails alone. 🙂
I did a little of what Robin Moses teaches here and some double stamping of bugs. Because: Stamping Master.
- Base Polishes:
Zoya’s “Jacqueline” with ILNP’s “The Magician” on top followed by washes of brown acrylic paint - Stamping Polishes:
Mundo de Unas’ “Caramel” and Sally Hansen’s Satin Glam “Go Gold” - Stamping Plates:
Bundle Monster BM-S241 (beetles and bee) and BM-S245 (spider and fish), XY-J02 (gold stripes) - Some brown acrylic paint for text and cream for highlights

I added the kraken and some fire and smoke to the first airship. Fun times. Clearly need to work on my kraken painting though. That’s a goal. 😉
Love the bug nails and the update with the attack on the airship. It looks like a watercolor come to life.
Thanks! I’m a little sad my current nail art schedule doesn’t allow for more freehand. I’m definitely going to plan next month differently.
