Someday I’m going to use “Belugaria” as not a kind of lava rock because this is a lot like the magma tutorial I followed even though it wasn’t even on my mind when I sketched this out. I do have some lovely spikes I can use. Hmmm… Anyway, this was for #WhenColoursCollide’s red/pink/black prompt. “Kween” is supposed to be a red, but I covered enough of it with super lazy stamped black texture that I decided to add some red heart sequins I bought from Sally’s Beauty years ago, just in case. No point joining a color challenge if you don’t follow the prompt, right? 🙂
- Base Polishes:
Pretty Serious’ “Fluffykins”, Revlon’s Parfumerie “Espresso”, Sinful Shine’s Kylie Jenner “Kween” - Stamping Polish:
Mundo de Unas’ “Black” - Freehand Polishes:
Cupcake Polish’s “Mr. Mint”, Essie’s “Belugaria”, Pretty Serious’ “Fluffykins” - Heart sequins from Sally’s Beauty (years ago)
- Stamping Plate:
Bundle Monster BM-301 (black texture)
This was a pretty simple look to put together in the end. The most complex was the middle finger. It started plain black, then I freehanded the heart with pink polish, added the glittery holo polish on top of that, then heaped “Belugaria” around the heart to give it depth. All of this was done with a #00 paint brush from eBay. I could have skipped the base colors, but it’s easier to just have a solid base when you’re using less opaque polishes. Plus I like that slight glitter-free outline around the heart. 🙂
And here’s the group collage. The next prompt is green/black and it’s not due until March 4th. I haven’t decided yet if I’m participating this time.
