Today’s look started with disappointment. I swatched a new polish I had purchased and it did not look at all like the photos. I checked the brand’s page and it looked like the pigment wasn’t stable enough and all of it changed between the time the swatchers took their photos and the preorder shipped. I think the brand might have refunded some people, but I love yellow polish so I decided to just keep mine.
Instead, I decided to use it right away and then didn’t post it on the site until a year later. LOL

All the color in the base polish is actually coming from the shimmer, which leaves a lot of room for playing with contrast. I picked a stamping polish that somewhat matched the shimmer at some angles but would blend in at other times. This interplay between the base and stamping makes it hard to really focus on exactly how the stamping looks, which means it’s very forgiving if the stamper isn’t picking things up perfectly. Great if you need to get a look done fast! Florals and other organic patterns work really well since they don’t have a predictable pattern. Finally I added a few reverse stamping butterflies on top to provide contrast and a focal point.
Now that’s a formula that’s easy and gorgeous. π₯³

You can see how at some angles it barely looks like I have a base polish on.
Until next time, friends! πββοΈ
