Edit 12/12/2020: I considered this nail art as something of a fail so on Nov. 29, 2018 I posted a recreation called We Beet Again.
I’m trying to do more nail art that I just want to do and fewer challenges and what better way to manage that than to dedicate an entire manicure to beets! I love canned pickled beets. I eat them on their own and with salad, all while being ultra paranoid about staining my clothes. Unlike boiled pickled eggs, they are delicious and do not leave one with a feeling of betrayal after visiting a salad bar. Yum! Naturally this all started with an image on UberChic’s Farm Fresh stamping plate that says “Turnip the Beat” which led to images of music and food. Glorious food…
- Base Polishes:
Pure Ice’s “All Vamped Out”, OPI’s “Going My Way or Norway?” and “Ice-bergers and Fries“, Sinful Colors’ “Cloak and Swagger” - Stamping Polishes:
Mundo de Unas’ “Brown”, “Lime”, “Red Wine” and “White”, Sally Hansen’s Insta-dri “I-rush Luck”, Sinful Color’s “Dream On” - Advanced Stamping Polishes:
Sally Hansen’s Insta-dri “I-rush Luck”, Sinful Color’s “Dream On” and “Whiteboard” - Stamping Plates:
Born Pretty Musical BP-L086 (grass) and BP-X18 (musical notes), Bundle Monster Kawaii Emoji BM-XL322 (beet), UberChic Farm Fresh (small beet and middle finger)
I hope you had as much fun as I did while honoring the beet. Meanwhile all this talk of pickled food is making me think of pickled radishes and scallions that I also love and can’t be found in regular grocery stores. Time to visit an asian market!
