Hundred Acre Wood

I think I lost momentum somewhere in the middle of October and I just haven’t been able to get it back. The yard needs me to weed it because fall is a growing season. I have soooo many weeds. The cat needs love. The people needs love. Other things that need doing and are politely pointing out that this is just one of my hobbies. I have so many things I want to paint right now, but I think I’m at capacity.

TLDR: don’t expect too many posts this month. 😭

Today’s look is fun even though I messed up so much. I love the tortoiseshell print. I think it’s so fun and I’d love to try more different patterns. Basically with this one I just alternated layers between a lighter yellow mustard jelly that covered everything and two brown jellies that I blobbed on randomly. This kept the contrast low and the transparency high. I’d love to try this again with more contrast or even try throwing in some opalescent streaks.

Then I stamped these vintage Pooh and Piglet stamping images on. In retrospect I should have skipped the Hundred Acre Wood ManixMe box. I just don’t tend to reach for this kind of art style and while I grew up with Pooh and friends I…don’t think I really liked the characters all that much. They were ok, but if I’d had more choices in what to watch, they wouldn’t have been it, I think. I most closely related to Eeyore and Rabbit and both of them seemed pretty miserable most of the time. Not a great message for me. Kids these days are kinda lucky with all the choices they have out there.

Yeah, probably not a great look to do nail art about something and then go I don’t really like it. You see my point about how I shouldn’t have gotten the box? 😅

Final Pooh bear nail art photos

I made the mistake of photographing just the false nails on a black background which does not work when you’re working with something transparent. So that photo is missing… 😅
