This is my first time participating in #manicollabs on Instagram. The prompt was Inspired by a Country You Would Like to Visit and I asked if it had to be a real country. They said ‘no’ so then I spent time thinking about a recognizable and cool land I would happily visit. The truth is, most of the books I read are pretty chaotic. I wouldn’t want to live there and I wouldn’t feel safe visiting (coughcowardcough). Like…even Pern. The dragons aren’t worth the misogyny, sorry. Plus, it’s not like I could bond a fire lizard and bring it home with me. One, would not get along with my cat. Two, not fair to take it away from other fire lizards. Three, husband has limits. I might be willing to ignore three, but my cat was reason enough. I’m not sure who would kill who, really.
So, yeah. I ended up picking Hogwarts. There are other lands I’d happily visit, but that will have to be saved for a time when I feel up to freehanding because stamping plates can only take you so far.

So…yeah. I cobbled together the sea serpent from the dragons on Moyou’s zodiac plate. I wasn’t planning on including my thumb, but I guess I thought I had to acknowledge that I know Harry Potter is set in a real country (heh). But. I wouldn’t care all that much if I never visited the UK. Harry Potter version of the UK, though…
