Live Quick
Do you think butterflies
Are aware of hurricanes?
If you asked them,
I doubt they'd care
That every beat of their wings
Brings destruction.
Butterflies' lives
Are too short for endless speculations
On how mere existence
Consumes everything around it.
But I.
Sit frozen in place.
As if refusing to live
Will save anyone.

Another old poem that was finally finished today, hence the date. The first part of it was written...two or three years ago? Then I added the middle bit in January and today did the last bit. I like the new ending much better than the old. Less clunky but still says what it should.
