Blue Crow:

I decided I wanted to start over in a new space, so I moved to...geocities. *l* They'd started offering subdirectories and I was ready to use them. As I became more aware of download times, I went from many backgrounds to one and a separate layout for the art gallery. I cut down to sleeping nekos and a non-moving siamese neko.

And then I stopped playing with the status bar and used ALTs and different icons to show how new things were. I dropped the censorship icons a little way in because I realized it was dumb.

Sections:

  • Index of the King - the confusion page was reduced to a paragraph here.
  • Royal Self - at first it was a physical and personality description.
Then I changed the name to "Who 'm I?" and switched to a fact sheet like Aimee Major's and Genesis's. I also liked Gen's list of 101 things and started my own.
  • Royal Jester - (sub) added mafias in a border=2 table and some funny pictures that I accidentally deleted months later.
  • Royal Opinions - (sub) unchanged.
  • Color World - (sub) unchanged.
  • Credits - after reading Give Credit, I switched the credits page to a paragraph on "Index of the King" and also gave credit at the bottom of every page.
  • Idiot Pages - dropped. I didn't think it was a good idea to work on something most people would never bother looking for. Plus they were dumb. ;)
  • Royal Writing Corner - dropped the quotes because it was, like, effort.
    • Poetry - (sub) categories changed to lovey-dovey, serious, funny/ironic, and non-sense. Why? First: I wrote too many love poems and where to put them that could downplay them properly? They weren't all funny. God forbid I put them under serious. And peanut butter is not love even if you are licking it off each other. Also, I was moving and likely forgot what I'd called the old ones. ;D
I also started organizing the files. First came the category name and then the number for the poem. Not very good for finding specific poems, but a fair start.
    • Essay - (sub) "es" and "ef" were added to file names to differentiate between the two essay types.
    • Short Story - (sub) unchanged.
  • Royal Artistic Attempts - (sub) shortened the name to "Royal Artwork" for the links. The layout was really just a plain black background and border=2 tables. The table on the index page displayed the latest additions with a description. Still do that today. 100x100 thumbnails were made in Microsoft Paint.
I also split it into sections: dragon, faerie, griffin, misc, and a page listing what media I used.
The description and media are placed next to the thumbnails on the index pages with links to the picture files.
  • Update - unchanged.

The text was placed in a table for your eyeball-ing ease. Originally, it all ran free like rabid cantaloupe. I've also used a transparent gif to make the border behave. Smearing chocolate on the computer only made it brown. Well, I thought it was a good bribe. ;)
