Bead Griffin 1
- Finished: Fall 2008
- Media: craft
This was for another contest that ended one hour before I uploaded the photos to deviantart. D'oh! I used Marilyne Kéréneur's pattern for the eagle head and my version of her hummingbird wings and made up everything else. Originally the eagle legs were made with rows of seed beads like the parrots, but I altered Marilyne's flamingo pattern to use 8/0 seed beads for the legs and liked the look enough to replace the griffin's with them. The eagle legs are reinforced with 30 gauge wire so he stands very well. [side view, griffin belly] 6 cm from beak to tail tip, 4 cm wing span, and 4 cm tall.
Materials: 32 & 30 gauge wire, 11/0 beads in tortoise, transparent matte brown, white, black, and yellow luster, 8/0 beads in yellow luster.
Eagle head by Marilyne Kéréneur, the rest by me.
