Bead Ruby-Throated Hummingbird 1
- Finished: Fall 2008
- Media: craft
Marilyne's pattern wasn't for a specific species of hummingbird so first I studied photos of real ruby-throated hummingbirds so I could get the placement of their colors correct. This is one of the prettiest critters I have made. It's like a tiny jewel. I would love to figure out a few other species of hummingbird sometime. Dimensions unknown for now.
Materials: 32 gauge wire, 11/0 beads in black, tortoise, silver lined red and emerald, transparent matte grey, and matte ceylon l grey.
Base pattern by Marilyne Kéréneur. Color pattern by me. I also added rows of “feathers” in the tail and wings to fill them out.
